15-yr-old girl raped on pretext of offering lift to school

A 15-year-old girl was raped by a man on the pretext of offering her lift in a Toyota Innova vehicle.

The victim was taken to an isolated place in the Jamalpur area where she was offered a cold drink laced with some sedatives, after which the girl was sexually exploited by him.

The suspect was identified as Jatinder Singh Sunny (40), a resident of Mundian Kalan.

As per information, a Class XII student was walking towards her school at 6.30 am on July 4, when a man from her neighbourhood made her sit in his Innova, saying that he would drop her to school.

He mixed some substance in cold drink and gave it to her, after which she became unconscious. Afterwards, the suspect raped her. After committing the crime, he fled the place after throwing her in a street near Mundian Kalan. The police conducted a raid and caught the miscreant.

The mother of the victim told the police that her daughter was studying in Class XII. On Friday when the girl did not return home, she went out to look for her and found daughter lying unconscious in the rear lane of a government school in Mundian Kalan.

“I was going to school on foot in the morning when Jatinder Singh, who lives in the neighbourhood, came in his Innova. He told me that he would drop me to school and made me sit in the vehicle. Instead of taking me to school, he took me to some other place. Later, he gave me some sedative-laced cold drink after which I became unconscious. After committing the crime he threatened me to not lodge any police complaint before fleeing the place,” the victim alleged.

Meanwhile, ADCP Mandeep Singh said based on the statement of the girl’s mother, the Jamalpur police on Friday registered a case against the suspect under various sections of the BNS and POCSO Act. The suspect was staying in a rented house near the house of the victim in a village in the past and now, he shifted to some other place in the village.
