As many as 175 people were provided heart and sugar check-up free of cost at a medical camp organised by the Youth Forum, Doraha, with the help of residents of the town. The camp aimed to promote health awareness and provide essential medical services to the people.
The team led by Dr Abhishek Goyal from Hero Heart conducted various tests for checking ECG, blood sugar and blood pressure along with cardiac consultation. Dr Goyal emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy heart through regular check-ups, regular exercise and managing stress.
He advised participants to maintain a healthy weight, get adequate sleep and limit salt and sugar intake. A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, along with regular exercise, can go a long way in keeping heart disease at bay. He also advised people to avoid smoking and limit their intake of sugary and fatty foods, which could increase the risk of heart problems.
Members of Youth Forum, Doraha, including Jandeep Kaushal, Joginder Kirti, Sanjeev Bansal, Rajesh, Abhilesh, Rohit Gupta, Goldi Goyal, Inderjeet Singh Shalu, Ginni Kapoor and Isht Preet Singh, contributed in making the camp a success.
Jandeep Kaushal, the chief organiser, stated that the camp was organised to promote heart health awareness and provide free medical check-up to the people, especially youth. He said the aim was to encourage people to prioritise their health and adopt healthy lifestyles.
The organisers said that the camp was a huge success with over 175 people benefiting from the free health check-up and consultation. They thanked the medical team for their expertise and support. Payal MLA Manwinder Singh Giaspura, former MLA Lakhvir Singh Lakha and municipal council chief Sudarshan Kumar Pappu appreciated the efforts of the organising team.
