A customer was stopped from picking a piece of sweets from the counter of sweetmeat shop at Daheru, Khanna, by the shopkeeper, which led to a serious fight among them. Later, the former, along with his father and other persons, attacked the shopkeeper and his siblings.

The Khanna Sadar police on Sunday registered a case against the suspects, Amanjot and his father Charan Singh, residents of Daheru.

The complainant, the shop owner, said he owns a sweetmeat shop, ‘Jai Ram Sweets’, at Daheru village. On July 13, Amanjot came to his shop to buy some sweets. Without asking, he himself picked a barfi from the counter. When he stopped Amanjot, the latter started arguments and hit him.

“After sometime, Amanjot along with his father Charan Singh and some other unidentified persons, again came and attacked me, my brother Santosh Kumar and sister Nishu. They also ransacked my shop and damaged the material,” he said.

ASI Pargat Singh said after registering a case, further probe was launched in matter.
