Ludhiana, August 16

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney shot off a letter to Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal, asking him to take action against police officials who did not allow Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, Dr Jasbir Singh Aulakh, to enter the venue of the Independence Day function organised at Punjab Agricultural University grounds here on Thursday.

Along with residents from the city, senior officials also came to attend the event. Meanwhile, Ludhiana Civil Surgeon Jasbir Singh Aulakh was not allowed to enter the venue by two police officials who were on duty at the entrance. Despite the Civil Surgeon having an invitation letter for the function, the police personnel did not allow him to attend the event. Dr Singh had also shown the invitation letter but the two policemen pushed him out.

After receiving the DC’s letter on Friday, Chahal placed SI Jaspal Singh and ASI Jaspal Singh under suspension with immediate effect.
