The Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, organised the annual Dr MS Randhawa Flower Show and Competition in collaboration with the Estate Organisation and the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Science, PAU, near Dr Manmohan Singh Auditorium.
The two-day state-level flower show, celebrating nature and promoting environmental awareness and sustainable gardening, was inaugurated by PAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal.
The show included nine classes of exhibits, including fresh and dry flower arrangements, potted plants, cacti, ferns, and bonsai. It was open to individuals, private institutions, government and semi-government institutions, and nurseries.
A huge crowd of visitors—comprising city residents, college students, schoolchildren and tiny tots—witnessed the mesmerising spectacle.
The city residents were also seen availing themselves of the opportunity to purchase pots and garden tools from the local garden nursery stalls.
