Two factory workers, heavily intoxicated, brutally struck a street dog on the head with a stick and an iron rod, causing the animal to die on the spot.
In this case, based on a complaint by Mani Singh, president of the NGO Help for Animals, the Moti Nagar Police Station yesterday registered a case against Pintoo and Rohit, residents of Uttar Pradesh, and arrested them. Both accused are employed in a factory in the city.
Providing information, Mani Singh stated that his organisation works for animal welfare. One Anuradha, a member of his organisation, was searching for a lost dog on June 25. During her search, Anuradha learned that the missing dog had been seen in the Transport Nagar area. As she reached the street near Oriental Dyeing, she witnessed factory workers Pintoo and Rohit hitting the dog on the head with a rod and a stick. After brutally assaulting the dog, the accused fled the scene. The severely injured animal died on the spot.
In this matter, he filed a complaint with Moti Nagar Police Station.Investigating Officer ASI Anil Kumar stated that the police registered a case against factory workers Pintoo and Rohit and arrested them.
Mani Singh stated that incidents of cruelty against voiceless animals are continuously increasing. He said that Pintoo and Rohit beat the dog in a drunken state because it was barking at strangers entering the area. Mani Singh appealed for strict action to be taken against such individuals.
