2 held for brutally attacking man
The Sarabha Nagar police claimed to have cracked a case of murderous attack on a man near New Rajguru Nagar here. The victim had suffered serious injuries in the attack. The CCTV footage of the incident had also gone viral.
The suspects have been identified as Sadiq of the Rahon road area and Rajesh Kumar, alias Rinku, of Chandralok Colony.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (West) Gurdev Singh and Sarabha Nagar SHO Neeraj Chaudhary issued a statement in this regard.
ACP Gurdev Singh said Navtej Singh was going to his home on his Honda Activa scooter on September 12 and when he reached outside his house in New Rajguru Nagar, two miscreants carrying sharp weapons cornered the victim and attacked him brutally. When he raised the alarm, the assailants fled the scene. He had suffered serious injuries as he was attacked with sharp weapons.
The ACP said the suspects had come to kill Navtej but fortunately, area residents had gathered at the scene and assailants fled the place. Since it was a blind case, the police worked hard on it and managed to nab the suspects.
Meanwhile, police sources said Navtej’s daughter had a matrimonial dispute with her husband. The latter had sent the assailants and he had lied to the duo that Navtej had harassed some woman and told the miscreants to kill the victim. Both suspects had a criminal background as cases were registered against them in the past.
