2 nabbed with heroin

Suspects of the New Shimlapuri locality

The crime branch, Ludhiana, on Wednesday claimed to have nabbed two heroin smugglers and recovered 37 gm of heroin from their possession.

The suspects were identified as Raman Sharma (34) and Maninder Singh, alias Prince (45), both residents of the New Shimlapuri locality.

Crime Branch in-charge inspector Beant Juneja said he along with a police team was conducting patrolling on Gill Road when he received a tip-off that two suspects, who were involved in the heroin smuggling, were standing at the grain market on Gill Road to deliver heroin. Following which, the police conducted a raid and nabbed them.

During frisking of the suspects, 37 gm of heroin was recovered. The police also impounded a scooter of the suspects.
