2 women held with heroin, illicit liquor

The Ludhiana police have nabbed two women in separate cases of smuggling.

In the first case, the police nabbed Manjit Kaur, alias Manjita, of Jaspal colony, Meharban, and recovered 10 grams of heroin. ASI Husan Lal said during routine patrolling, a woman was cornered on suspicion. During frisking, 10 grams of heroin was recovered from her. The woman told the police that she was waiting to deliver the drug to a client. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused.

In another case, the police nabbed a liquor smuggler. The arrested accused was identified as Kiran, a resident of Kalka, Ludhiana. ASI Radhey Sham said the police had received a tip-off that the accused was involved in liquor smuggling and kept a stock of illegal liquor at her house. A police party raided her house and found 47 bottles of liquor.
