Ludhiana, August 2
Punjab Agricultural University’s Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, College of Community Science, is organising a 21-day ‘Orientation course-cum-induction training programme’ from August 2 to 23.
The course was inaugurated by Kiran Bains, Dean, College of Community Science, today. Twenty-three participants from different departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and regional research stations of the PAU will attend the course this year.
Kiran Bains said the course was designed to equip the newly recruited faculty with proficiency in performing their roles as teachers, researchers, guides and extension personnel to effectively achieve the three-fold mandate of the university.
Course director Ritu Mittal Gupta said experts from different departments of the PAU, retired faculty members and those from other organisations have been roped in to engage participants.
Kanwaljit Kaur, Professor-cum-Head of Department, ensured that the course helps in polishing the basic competencies of participants, thereby improving PAU’s productivity.
Kiran Bains inspired the participants to take up the challenges of their job and imbibe values in life to be successful. She congratulated the department for having successfully conducted the course for 11 years.
