3 held with 510 gm of heroin, mobiles

The Ludhiana police yesterday arrested three persons and seized 510 gm of heroin, four mobile phones and a Hyundai i20 car from them.
The suspects have been identified as Akashdeep Singh (24) of Ladian Kalan, Rahul Mattu, alias Gopi (28), of Ludhiana and Rohit Singh (19) of Tarn Taran. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against them on Monday.
ADCP (Crime) Amandeep Singh Brar said acting on a tip-off, the CIA team laid a trap and after intercepting the i20 car, three suspects were arrested and 510 gm of heroin was seized from them.
He said the suspects were on the way to deliver heroin to their clients.
“Now, the police will conduct further questioning of the smugglers so that their links can be verified and big suppliers be nabbed. The police would also probe about properties made by the suspects with the proceeds of drug money and the same would be attached,” Brar said.
Meanwhile, the police nabbed two persons and seized 278 gm of heroin and Rs 10,000 drug money from their possession in another incident. The duo are identified as Gurdeep Singh (47) and Rajinder Kaur (39), both residents of Lohara. A case has been registered against them.
