The police said they had solved a number of snatching cases by arresting three members of a notorious gang of snatchers from different places on Thursday.

Two motorcycles, nine mobiles and a sharp weapon used in crime were recovered from the possession of the suspect identified as Ketan Kumar Ketu of Aman Nagar Ludhiana, Raghuveer Kumar of Peeru Mohalla Salem Tabri and Kamdev of Peeru Mohalla Salem Tabri.

ADCP 1 Sameer Verma informed that cops led by Jatinder Singh had nabbed three members of a gang of miscreants that had been involved in snatching vehicles and valuables from passersby after threatening them with sharp-edged weapons on Thursday.

Though the police are yet to ascertain antecedents of all the suspects, preliminary investigations revealed that the kingpin Ketu was a habitual offender already booked under several cases of theft and snatching.
