3 of robbers’ gang held, seven mobiles seized

The Focal Point police busted a gang of robbers and seized seven mobile phones, a sharp weapon and a Honda Activa scooter from the suspects.

SHO, Focal Point, Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, said on September 9, Om Parkash lodged a police complaint that on September 7 when he was going to work in a night shift at a factory in Focal Point, he was targeted by two Honda Activa scooter-borne youths, who looted a mobile phone and Rs 5,000 in cash from him.

Brar said when police started a probe, the two suspects, Rahul, alias Gandhi, of Sarpanch Colony and Atul Sharma of Jamalpur were arrested on September 10 and two mobile phones and the scooter used in committing the crime were seized from them. During questioning, two persons, Jagdeep Singh and Sukhdev Singh, both residents of Dhandari Khurd, were nominated in the case for buying the looted mobile phones from the miscreants. Meanwhile, Jagdeep was also arrested in the case and five mobiles were recovered from him. Raids were being conducted to nab Sukhdev.

They admitted that they had looted several mobiles in city areas.
