Ludhiana, August 7
Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organised a monthly training camp for PAU Progressive Beekeepers’ Association members at the Skill Development Centre here on Wednesday.
TS Riar, Additional Director of Communication, guided the camp, which witnessed participation from 35 enthusiastic beekeepers. The event began with a welcome address by Jagtaar Singh, secretary of the PBKA, who also reviewed the club’s recent activities.
Jaspal Singh from the Department of Entomology and Jaspreet Kaur from the Department of Food Science and Technology shared valuable tips on making honey products and managing honey bees during the rainy season.
Jatinder Singh Sohi, president of the PBKA, thanked all participants and contributors.
As part of the ‘Green Drive’ initiative, spearheaded by Vice-Chancellor Satbir Singh Gosal, 65 bee floral plants, which bloom and provide nectar and pollen during the post-monsoon lean period, were districtributed to the beekeepers. The apiculture unit of the Department of Entomology, PAU, facilitated this districtribution.
