A theft occurred at a local factory where miscreant(s) made off with Rs 40 lakh in cash. The incident occurred at Arisudana Industry Limited in Giaspura, here. According to Pradeep Singh Arora, factory’s chief financial officer, the suspect(s) entered the factory on the intervening night of January 5 and 6 by breaking locks and made their way to its office, from where they stole the money.

The police registered a case against unidentified suspects on Monday. The CCTV footage from cameras installed inside and outside the factory was obtained, which shows a suspect entering its premises.

The incident came to light when staff reached the factory in the morning. Following which, they informed the owner and the police. The police launched a probe to crack the case. The victim has appealed to the police to take swift action in the matter.
