5 kg of ganja seized, Bihar native nabbed

The Basti Jodhewal police have arrested a man and seized 5 kg of ganja from his possession.

The suspect was identified as Jahid Ansari, a native of Bihar at present staying in Bank Colony here.

ACP (North) Davinder Chaudhary in a statement issued stated that the SHO, Basti Jodhewal police station, Inspector Jasvir Singh, had received a tip-off on Tuesday that the suspect was involved in smuggling of ganja and he was possessing a huge quantity of the drug. Accordingly, the SHO, along with the police team, conducted a raid at the whereabouts of the suspect and nabbed him. The police also seized 5 kg of ganja from him. He was arrested near a school in Kakowal village.

The ACP said a case was registered against the man and the court sent him to one-day police remand. In further questioning of the suspect, the entire drug supply line would be busted and big suppliers involved in the racket be arrested.
