In two separate incidents, the police have seized 60 bottles of illicit liquor.

In the first incident, the Shimlapuri police arrested Pradeep Verma from Gurmukh Road during patrolling on Wednesday.

The police got a tip-off about the man indulging in smuggling of liquor, following which, Verma was arrested from his confectionary shop on Gurmukh

Road. The police have recovered 36 bottles of Punjab Dollar XXX rum from his custody.

Verma, a resident of Ravidass Chowk, Dhaba, has been taken on police remand.

In the other incident, the Model Town police have arrested three persons, Rana, Neeraj and Jony Kumar, for smuggling liquor.

The police recovered 24 bottles of Royal Stag Whisky from their possession. During a police patrolling, the suspects were arrested from Manohar Nagar.

The Shimlapuri police and Model Town police have registered separate cases against the four suspects under Sections 61, 4and 14 of the Excise Act.
