Sixtyseven persons tested positive for Covid-19, while no death was reported in the district today. Those who tested positive, included 15 persons who came in contact with the positive patients, 24 referred from flu corers, 13 referred from OPDs, one was a pre-operative case, two healthcare workers, and one cop and an undertrial. A total of ten persons were yet to be traced.

The number of patients on ventilator support today were eight, which included four from the district and four from other districts.

Today, 106 persons were sent to home-quarantine while 1,114 are active home-quarantined in the district.

DC Varinder Sharma said whenever any suspected case was reported or traced their samples is immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 1,844 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing and their results are expected shortly.

Sharma urged residents to follow all directions of the Punjab Government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves but also contribute to keeping everyone around safe.
