The kidnapping bid of a nine-year-old student failed when she showed alertness and raised the alarm and went towards a shopkeeper and pleaded for safety.

The incident occurred around 1.30 pm on the Jodhewal road. With the help of the shopkeeper and people, the suspects were cornered and handed over to the police.

The girl’s father, Manoj Kumar, said he used to work as an e-rickshaw driver. His daughter Arpita studies in Class I. His daughter was standing outside her school during the departure when two miscreants tried to kidnap her. She got scared and ran to a shopkeeper in front of the school. The shop owner overpowered both suspects with the help of the people.

After receiving information, Inspector Avtar Singh from the Daresi police station reached the spot, along with a police team, and took the duo in police custody. He said a case was being registered against the suspects as per law.
