In the brutal murder case of a budding share market trader, 26-year-old Jaskirat Singh Jassa, at Kothe Sherjung, Jagraon, on Tuesday night, the daring key accused recorded a video in his mobile phone, confessing to having committed the murder of Jassa. The turbaned accused showed no regret in killing Jassa and instead went on to say that he had done what he had been wishing for a long time.

The key accused, Ramandeep Singh and Kuljeet Singh, are said to be two brothers and junk dealers who run a shop on Sidhwan Bet road in Jagraon. The two are residents of Jagraon, along with their aides (reportedly workers of their shop who took part in the crime).

In a recorded video, which accused Ramandeep himself shared on social media, the accused states, “We have killed Jassa. I had tried to settle things with the deceased, but he didn’t budge. He used to park cars in front of our shop and would often show his licensed weapon. Now, when we killed him, we snatched his revolver and he even failed to fire a single shot at us for his own safety. If he had been keeping a revolver, he should have kept for his safety, why he tried to show us. We have not even used the weapon, and simply killed Jassa with sticks and rods. Recently, a compromise was also achieved, but Jassa was still teasing us.”

Meanwhile, the Ludhiana (Rural) police said that the video, which shows one of the murder accused, was being verified. Although the two accused have been identified, the remaining accused would be identified once the two were arrested, the police said. The total number of accused are said to be around seven.

A police official said the deceased used to visit a shop near the shop of the accused. He had a spat with the accused on several occasion. Ramandeep had shared the video on his WhatsApp account after committing the murder. Raids are on to nab the accused.
