A five-day residential training programme on organic farming concluded successfully here. The event was organised by the National Centre for Organic and Natural Farming (NCONF), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India, Ghaziabad, in collaboration with the School of Organic Farming, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

The programme aimed at equipping agriculture and horticulture graduates with sustainable farming techniques and hands-on knowledge of organic practices.

The training programme featured interactive sessions, led by Dr SK Vaid from NCONF, Ghaziabad, along with prominent faculty members from PAU, including Dr SS Walia and Dr Ramandeep Singh, and experts from CIPHET, Ludhiana.

The topics covered during discussions were organic and natural farming principles, certification and marketing strategies, quality evaluation using advanced analytical tools, and post-harvest storage techniques. Participants also gained practical insights through real-time demonstrations and field applications.

Dr MIS Gill, Dean of Postgraduate Studies at the PAU, addressed the valedictory session and applauded the participants for their active involvement. He emphasised the importance of sustainable farming practices in addressing environmental challenges and ensuring a healthy, secure food system.

Participants expressed gratitude for the structured training programme and the expert guidance provided to them. They shared their commitment to implementing the organic farming practices they had learnt during the sessions in their respective fields.
