The Directorate of Students’ Welfare, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, will organise a commemorative event titled ‘Lafzan Di Dargah’ on Tuesday, January 14, at 3 p, at the Student Home. The programme is a tribute to legendary Punjabi poet Dr Surjit Patar. It is being held on his birthday under the patronage of PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal.
Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director of Students’ Welfare, highlighted that Dr Patar dedicated over thirty years of his life to teaching at the PAU, and the university’s environment significantly shaped his creative journey.
Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Culture), shared that the event will witness participation from the PAU faculty, students, eminent literary figures, and literature enthusiasts. She invited all admirers of Dr Patar and lovers of Punjabi literature to join the celebrations.
