In tune with the emerging digital trends, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) launched a global initiative for the Future AI (Artificial Intelligence) Literacy project in collaboration with NIDHI-TBI and AI HUB. The project seeks to empower all students, business owners, professionals, women agripreneurs, farm youth, agrarian innovators and startups with essential AI skills, to prepare them for agrarian innovations and other future-related work.

Launching the project, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, emphasised on the critical role of AI in transforming industries, particularly in agriculture, and commended the collaborative efforts of PAU and its supporting experts to bring this initiative to fruition.

Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies, PAU and Principal Investigator, NIDHI-TBI (DST, GoI) project, said the work would focus on providing customised training sessions on needs and applications of AI, and hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI tools to enhance its understanding and application for potential incubates of NIDHI-TBI. Its focus would also be on areas of fruits, vegetables and cereals.

Dr Malwinder S Malhi underscored the global relevance of AI literacy. Komal Chopra Lekhi, PAU alumni and digital entrepreneur, shared her perspective on the project to empower individuals with future-ready skills through training.
