Alumni reunite at ‘Sunehri Pairraan’ event at Khalsa College for Women

The corridors of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, came alive with nostalgia as the college hosted its alumni get-together, ‘Sunehri Pairraan,’ organised by the Old Students Association.

The event provided an opportunity for former students to reconnect, reminisce about their college days, and share cherished memories of teachers, favourite hangout spots, canteen moments, and the good old times of bunking classes. It was an emotional occasion for both alumni and teachers alike.

The event was graced by alumna working in diverse fields who returned to their alma mater to mark the occasion. Shinee Singh, ACST Ludhiana 3, was the chief guest, while Rama Munjal, social activist and founder of Arpita Cancer Society, served as the guest of honour. Among the distinguished guests were Kushal Dhillon, Manager of Khalsa College, and Dr Mukti Gill, Director of the college.

Notable alumna and state awardee Dr Rachna Sharma, Chairman of Bal Vikas Trust, along with Shruti and Rijuta of the Old Students Association, were also present to celebrate the event. The Principal, Dr Kamaljit Grewal, warmly welcomed the guests.

The event began with a Shabad Gayan, setting the tone for the day. A highlight of the gathering was Punjabi singer Kamal Khan, whose soulful performance captivated the audience. The event also featured a cultural bonanza presented by the students.

Alumni achievers from 1985 to the present were honoured, recognising their accomplishments in various fields. The executive members of the Old Students Association were acknowledged for their continued support and contributions to the college.

Principal Dr Kamaljit Grewal praised the efforts of coordinator Jasbir Kaur from the Department of Political Science for organising the successful reunion. She also commended the alumni for their meaningful contributions to society in their respective fields. The day concluded with memorable photos at the selfie corner, capturing moments to cherish for years to come.
