Amjyot, Anmolpreet to lead state b’ball teams

The selected players assembled here at Guru Nanak Stadium before their departure for Dehradun.
The list of selected players, released here on Saturday by Teja Singh Dhaliwal, honorary general secretary, Punjab Basketball Association, includes Amjyot Singh Gill, Amritpal Singh, Palpreet Singh Brar, Gurbaaz Singh Sandhu, Princepal Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Nawaaz Singh Panaich, Navkarman Singh Chahal, Karandeep Singh, Vishal Sharma, Akashdeep Sharma, and Abhishek Rathi. Rajinder Singh and Paramdeep Singh have been appointed the chief coach and coach, respectively, while Gurinderjit Singh will go along with the team as manager.
The women’s team members are Anmolpreet Kaur Pannu, Nadar Kaur Dhillon, Komalpreet Kaur, Manmeet Kaur, Shamma Parveen, Nandini Saha, Isha Rani, Radha Rani, Komalpreet Kaur, Shabnam Jassal, Kanishja Dhir, and Bhavika Dhir. Saloni and Ravinder will accompany the team as coaches, while Narinder Pal has been appointed the manager.
Swimming, water polo teams announced
The Punjab swimming (men’s and women’s) and water polo (men’s) teams, comprising 25 swimmers and six officials, were announced for the 38th National Games.
Anuj Sharma, honorary general secretary, Punjab Swimming Association, said the swimming and water polo competitions would be conducted at Haldwani from January 29 to February 4. The state teams were finalised at the conclusion of a coaching camp held in Mohali.
The swimming team (men’s) members were Rishabh S Dhadwal (Jalandhar), Anshav Jindal (Ferozepur), Lakshya Jindal (Mohali), Mridul Punia, Kashish Punia, and Rajwinder Singh (Punjab Police).
The women’s team includes Chahat Arora and Shubnoor Kaur (Mohali), Kirti Arora (Ludhiana), Avni Chhabra and Vanshika (Pathankot), and Ekambir Kaur Sandhu (Jalandhar).
The water polo team comprises Rajbeer Singh (captain), Prince Sharma, Jagmeet Singh, and Amitoz Verma (Punjab Police); Karanveer Singh, Kamalpreet Sharma, Vishal, Vidhanshu, and Jatinder Singh (Jalandhar); Sartaj Singh (Amritsar); Dalinder Singh and Gurvinder Singh (Sangrur); and Vishu Kumar (Faridkot).
Ajay Sharma (Ludhiana) and Johny Bhatia (Mohali) will accompany the swimming team as coaches, while Ramanjit Kaur (Mohali) has been appointed manager of the squad.
Umesh Sharma (Jalandhar), Vinod Sangwan (Amritsar), and Balraj Singh (Punjab Police) are the officials who will accompany the water polo contingent.
