Amjyot, Shabnum to lead Punjab teams in Senior National Basketball Championship

International Amjyot Singh and Shabnum Jassal have been selected to lead the Punjab men’s and women’s teams, respectively, in the 74th Senior National Basketball Championship. This championship will be held at Bhavnagar in Gujrat from January 5-12.

The list of players, released here on Wednesday by Teja Singh Dhaliwal, honorary general secretary, Punjab Basketball Association, include men — Amritpal Singh, Amjyot Singh, Rythempreet Singh, Rahul, Gurbaz Singh, Nawaz Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Akash Sharma, Harjinder Singh, Mandeep Singh, Navkarman Singh and Gurvinder Singh. Rajinder Singh and Paramdeep Singh will accompany the team as coaches while Gurinderjit Singh has been named manager of the squad.

Women team comprises Shabnum Jassal, Manmeet Kaur, Nadar Kaur Dhillon, Komalpreet Chemma, Knishka Dhir, Bhavika Dhir, Chanda Gautam, Sukhman Sidhu, Paryanka Behal, Damanpreet Kaur Dhaliwal, Aparna and Nandini. Saloni and Ravinder have been appointed coaches of the team while Heemiksha and Keshav will go along with the contingent as physio.
