Argentinian delegation visits PAU for academic, cultural exchange
Visit reflects the shared commitment of both institutions
A seven-member delegation from Centre Agrotécnico Regional (CAR), Argentina, visited the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), under the academic and cultural exchange programme facilitated by the Indian embassy in Buenos Aires.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of both institutions towards advancing agricultural education, research and innovation.
During the visit, the delegates, namely, Casal, Juan Pablo; Huber, Catalina Felisa; Landaburu, Ignacio Esteban; Harms, Kiara Aymara Victoria; Risso, Pedro Harms, Tiago Eluney Ernesto and Mahfud Terre Santiago actively engaged in academic interactions aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between the PAU and CAR.
This collaboration underscores PAU’s vision of promoting international linkages that foster scientific exchange and cultural enrichment.
A special interactive session with the international delegation of students was organised by the Directorate of Students’ Welfare at the International Students’ Hostel. The event was graced by Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, vice-chancellor; Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare; Dr KS Suri, Joint Director Students’ Welfare; Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Culture); Dr Vishal Bector, Associate Director (Institutional Relations); Dr Yogita Sharma, Chief Warden (Girls); Dr Dharminder Singh, Chief Warden (Boys); Dr Jasmeet Kaur, Assistant Warden; Dr Mahesh Chand Singh, Assistant Warden and Satvir Singh, Registering Officer.
All members of the delegation were honoured with citations by the vice-chancellor as a mark of appreciation and goodwill. The agricultural delegation also interacted with PAU artist students regarding the cultural heritage in the state and accomplishments made by PAU in the area of art, culture and sports.
As part of the visit, the delegates also enjoyed a traditional Indian lunch at Hostel No. 4 along with Dr Rishi Pal Singh, Registrar, and the PAU authorities.
Vice-chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal motivated the students to visit various institutions in their own country and abroad to acquire training experience and for degree programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jaura appreciated the growing academic and cultural exchange between PAU and international institutions, highlighting how such collaborations enrich learning experiences and promote global understanding among students.
The visit concluded with renewed enthusiasm for continued partnership and shared progress in agricultural education and research.
