The complainant, the girl’s father, told the police that his eldest daughter, a student of Class XII, was raped by a youth of their village last year. Through social media, she became a friend of the suspect, Bakhshish Singh, who was working in the Army.

“Bakhshish kept pressuring my daughter to have physical relations with him on the pretext of marriage. Later, he established sexual relations with the victim against her wishes. When she informed me about the matter, I lodged a complaint,” he said.

He demanded strict action against the suspect.
