Several miscreants attacked a man in the city in broad daylight. As people started gathering, the assailants fled the scene leaving behind two motorcycles. On receiving information, the police reached the place, seized the motorcycles and began a probe.
The victim, Vinod Kumar, a businessman, said he stays in the Janakpuri area. He had a factory on Tajpur Road. On Tuesday morning, when he was on the way to the factory, around 10 miscreants surrounded him outside Daman Chicken on the road. The miscreants tried to take out keys from his Honda Activa. When he protested their move, the miscreants attacked him. He ran for his life and pleaded for help from the people, after which the miscreants fled the scene. The miscreants left two of their motorcycles at the scene while fleeing. The businessman suffered serious head injuries in the incident. According to the victim, he has no enmity with anyone.
The police said the man was attacked but he was not robbed or stolen. He did not recognise the perpetrators, making the incident suspicious. It was suspected that the assault was due to a personal grudge. The police were examining CCTV footage.
