The BJP leadership in the district has condemned the grenade attack on the house of former BJP minister and senior leader Manoranjan Kalia. Though the police claim to have solved the case, leaders termed it as a sorry state of affairs and demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann resign on moral grounds as he had failed to provide safety to the state’s people and leaders.

Anil Sarin, senior BJP leader, said this was the sixteenth attack in Punjab in the last three months. “Bhagwant Mann should resign on moral grounds. He has failed to provide safety to the masses in Punjab. This was a cowardly act and it seems the state government has surrendered before the anti-social elements. The government has miserably failed to control law and order in the state. Mann is only interested in safeguarding his bosses Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia and the masses of Punjab are not on the priority list of the CM.”

Amarjit Singh Tikka, another BJP leader, said that his security was taken back three months back. “I had got a threat, but the police did not listen to me and did not register any DDR in that matter. The police have failed to control law and order in Punjab,” said Tikka.

Gurdeep Singh Gosha, another BJP leader, said that the attack was uncalled for. He said that the situation of Punjab had become worst and people were not feeling safe. Mann and Kejriwal were responsible for the disturbance in Punjab and the AAP leaders were conveniently fooling the people of Punjab on false propaganda. He said that the mass movement should be started against AAP leaders and state government for ruining the peace fabric in state.
