Briefly: Two nabbed with heroin

Ludhiana: The Ladhowal police have seized 15 gm of heroin and a weighing scale from Deedar Singh and Chandan Sharma of Nawanshahr. The complaint in this regard was filed by SI Dalbir Singh under the NDPS Act. According to the police, they were patrolling at Talwandi Kalan village when they saw a Maruti Swift car (bearing registration number PB 32 Q 4445) parked under the Sutlej Bridge, near the railway crossing. When the suspects saw the police, they tried to flee the place. The police nabbed the duo and seized 15 gm of heroin and an electronic weighing scale from them. The car was also seized. Both suspects were remanded in police custody.

43,000 banned tablets seized

Ludhiana: The Sahnewal police have arrested Kishan Kumar of Mustabad village in Karrnal and a case under the NDPS Act was registered against him. According to the police, when SI Jaswinder Singh along with a police team were on duty near Kanech Cut, GT Road, they saw a Mahindra Bolero (bearing registration number PB 10 GK 0572), from which a person was taking out a heavy box. On suspicion, the police checked the box and seized 43,000 tablets of banned tramadol and Clovidol 100. The police arrested the man and seized the tablets and the vehicle.
