Arya College
Ludhiana: World AIDS Day was observed in the girls’ section of Arya College. It was held under the aegis of Red Ribbon Club. An awareness drive was organised in which students displayed posters spreading awareness about symptoms, causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS. They also shared insights on controlling the disease. ACMC secretary Dr SM Sharma, principal Dr Suksham Ahluwalia and in-charge Dr Mamta Kohli said the college would conduct such activities in future also to spread awareness among students and community about this disease. The programme was coordinated by Dr Rajni Bala, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club.
Malwa Central College of Education
Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana, observed World AIDS Day. Declamation, slogan-writing and poster-making competitions were held on the occasion. Principal of the college Dr Satwant Kaur said education was the most effective tool to spread awareness about AIDS.
Indian Public Sr Sec School
A two-day annual sports meet was organised at Indian Public Senior Secondary School. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a march past. Over 1,000 students took part in various races with enthusiasm. Amandeep Singh Tangri, Director of CT University, who was the guest of honour, motivated the students to take part in sports. Chairman of the school Surinder Pal Garg, managing director Sarita Garg, director Gaurav Garg and principal Madhu Bala encouraged students to take part in co-curricular activities.
BCM Arya Model Sr Sec School
BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School hosted a cultural exchange programme, “Cultural Kaleidoscope”. This initiative brought together students from diverse countries such as Germany, Dubai and Nigeria. The school campus transformed into a global village, reverberating with the sounds of different languages, music and laughter from November 15 to 30. Students enthusiastically took part in a range of activities, including singing national anthems, drawing national flags, and preparing authentic cuisines from different countries.
Sanatan Vidya Mandir Sr Sec School
Sanatan Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School held its annual function “Saptrang”. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, who was the chief guest on the occasion, Vinod Ghai, former Advocate General, Punjab, and others appreciated the efforts of teachers and students.
