Guru Nanak Public School
Ludhiana: Students of Guru Nanak Public School participated in and qualified for the Stage-1 Round of the ‘CISCE Inter-school Robotics Championship (IRC) 2024’ in collaboration with I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (Technology Innovation Hub of IIT-Delhi) held at Lucknow. Harshit Panesar, Jivitesh Saini, Manjot Singh, Gurkirpa Kaur, and Damanpreet Kaur of Class IX participated in the championship with their innovative robotics creations. Principal Mona Singh praised their efforts and encouraged them to continue exploring such opportunities for personal and academic growth.
BCM Arya
Showcasing a harmonious blend of creativity and scientific exploration, BCM Arya School hosted the LSSC Storytelling Competition titled ‘Chronicles of Science: A Digital Odyssey’ on Thursday. This unique and intellectually stimulating event provided a platform for young minds from classes VI to VIII to exhibit their ingenuity, scientific insight, and storytelling prowess. A total of 24 teams from various prestigious CBSE schools of Ludhiana participated with great enthusiasm, forming pairs—a narrator to present their story and a collaborator to manage the accompanying PPT visuals. The competition revolved around the theme of explaining scientific concepts through storytelling, a blend of logic and imagination. It was awe-inspiring to witness students transform complex scientific ideas into captivating narratives, supported by visually engaging animations. Adding to the cultural vibrancy of the event, a melodious duet song performance by students of the host school captivated the audience and set an engaging tone for the day.
Arya College
The Home Science Department at Arya College Girls Section organised a tricolour dishes-making competition in the context of Republic Day celebrations. Students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their culinary skills by preparing sumptuous dishes. Manya Jain stood first, Pallavi secured second position, while the third position was bagged by Chahat, Alisha, Diya, and Manya. ACMC Secretary SM Sharma appreciated the students for their effort. Principal Suksham Ahluwalia praised the students for their innovative cooking styles. Incharge Mamta Kohli encouraged the students to celebrate the essence of Indian culture through the art of cooking. The programme was coordinated by Dr Rupinder Kaur.
BCM College of Education
The Fine Arts Club of BCM College of Education organised a PidiliteFevicryl workshop for the students of BEd. Sharanjit Kaur and Amandeep, expert teachers from Pidilite, were the resource persons for the day. They demonstrated tissue paper painting, fridge magnet making, and pouch designing to the students. The students ardently participated in the workshop and prepared beautiful magnets and pouches. This workshop not only helped the students develop their creativity, imagination, and self-esteem but also chiselled the artistic skills and teamwork skills. Prof Yamuna of the college coordinated the activity.
MGM Public School
A drawing competition was organised for the students of Class 3 at MGM Public School by Reliance Jewel. The event aimed to encourage creativity and self-expression among young artists. About 60 students participated in the event. The competition was a great success as the participants showcased their talents. Principal Ranjana Kaushal said such competitions gave a platform to students to unleash their hidden talents. Director Gajjan Singh Thind motivated the students to participate in more such activities and express their creativity.
