Dental Awareness Camp
The Red Ribbon Club and NSS unit of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines, organised a Dental Awareness and Check-up Camp in collaboration with BJS Dental College and Hospital. Inaugurated by Councillor Nandini Jerath, Dr Navdeep Kaur, Head of Public Health Medicine at BJS Dental College, stressed the importance of oral hygiene, particularly for youth. Over 100 students and faculty members received basic dental procedures like scaling during the camp. Dr Kaur highlighted regular initiatives aimed at raising dental awareness, guided by Chairman Baba Anhad Singh.
Mini Book Bank Initiative
Dr Vijay Asdhir, retired principal and alumnus of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, along with other book lovers, launched a Mini Book Bank at Urban Estate Dugri Park. Inaugurated by writer and industrialist Ranjodh Singh, this is the third such book bank in the city. Books are available under the “Borrow-Read-Return” model. Dr Asdhir was inspired by his former colleague, Principal Parmjit Singh Grewal. Ranjodh Singh appreciated the efforts of the Park Committee, and Brij Bhushan Goyal, Secretary of SCD Government College Alumni Association, highlighted the importance of libraries in the pursuit of knowledge.
Taekkyon Karate Championship
The Dhaliwal sisters, Aseem Dhaliwal and Anshreet Kaur Dhaliwal, were honoured at Anand Isher Senior Secondary Public School on Grandparents Day. Both sisters qualified for the prestigious Taekkyon International Karate Championship in Oslo, Norway, in July 2025. The audience of nearly 1,000 parents applauded as each sister received a trophy and a Rs 2,100 cash reward. Director Kartar Singh also announced the opening of a Sports Academy, and the girls’ father, Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, was presented with a token of appreciation for his support.
Career Counselling Session
The Guidance and Placement Cell of Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, conducted a career counselling session for students. Dr Neeraj Kumar welcomed attendees, and Dr Tripta discussed the benefits of a teaching career, along with information about B Ed and M Ed courses. Dr Rekha delivered the vote of thanks. Around 150 students from Khalsa College for Women attended the session, showing strong interest in future enrollment. Principal Dr Satwant Kaur appreciated the efforts of the organisers.
