As many as 150 students of Wisdom World School, Dehliz Road, were felicitated during the annual day function that was held on the school campus here on Thursday. Sanjay Dhand and Yodha Verma, office-bearers of the school management committee, chaired the inaugural and concluding session while National Institute of Social Defense (NIDS) member Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, president Municipal Council Vikas Krishan Sharma and DSP Rajan Sharma were guests of honour during the function.
Magic show at Police DAV
Jalandhar: Police DAV Public School, Ludhiana, organised an engaging and educational magic show on December 5, exclusively for students of Classes 1 and 2 where magician Manoj Kumar Das from the Red Cross Society showed many tricks. The event aimed to promote curiosity, creativity and critical thinking among young minds. The magic show was a huge success, with students and staff alike praising the event. By emphasising upon the science behind the tricks, the Red Cross Society’s initiative inspired students to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of science and its applications.
Adventure camp organised
Ryan International School, Ludhiana, organised an enriching adventure camp for students of grade Montessori to Class 8. The camp was designed to transform fear into confidence and provide students with a thrilling and educational experience through various outdoor activities. The day began at 8:30 am with orientation and group formation, followed by exciting activities like zip-lining, trampolining, zorb rolling, climbing walls, rope bridges, Tarzan swings, and bungee runs. The programme also incorporated team-building games and fun learning sessions to develop skills such as planning, decision-making and problem-solving. After a mid-day break and lunch, the adventure resumed with a lively DJ session to end the day on a high note. The camp concluded with evening snacks, and parents picked up their children at 4:40 pm.
Martyrdom Day
On December 5, BCM School Chandigarh Road Foundational Stage solemnly observed Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom day to honour his unparalleled sacrifice for humanity and the freedom of faith. Teachers provided students with an inspiring account of the Guru’s life and teachings, highlighting his courage, selflessness and unwavering commitment to righteousness. UKG students delivered eloquent presentations, vividly narrating the Guru’s noble deeds and the values he championed. The heartfelt tributes left a profound impression on everyone, fostering a deep sense of reverence and admiration for Guru Tegh Bahadur’s enduring legacy. Following this, the school enthusiastically celebrated World Soil Day with engaging and educational activities aimed at fostering environmental awareness.
Prize distribution ceremony
Green Land Convent School, Civil City, Ludhiana, hosted its 18th Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony and cultural bonanza, ‘Inderdhanush — The Rays of Hope’. The event was a grand celebration of culture and creativity, attended by esteemed guests, parents, teachers and students. The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome of the chief guests, Akarshi Jain, IPS, Ludhiana and Vijay Danav (AAP leader) by Dr Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr Shabad Rudhra, president of Trust, Usha Rudhra, general secretary, Dr Vijayata Rudhra, Director, Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr Anamika, Director, St Paul International, Mohali and principals of Green Land Schools Baldeep Pandher, Vinita Sanan, Dr Jyoti Pujara, Geetika Sharma and school principal Ritu Malhotra. The event showcased captivating performances, including a mesmerising orchestra performance, a spectacular school band performance, Shabad Gayan, ‘Tu Naa Sune Hor Kaun Sune’, and a choreographed excerpt from Mahabharata showcasing the life of Khatu Shyam Jee Maharaj. A welcome dance performance was presented by the school’s blooming buds. The students presented a powerful dance performance, ‘Prakriti’, emphasising the importance of preserving nature. Principal Ritu Malhotra, presented the annual report, highlighting students’ achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. She emphasised spiritual growth and encouraged students to set high goals.
Tributes paid to Guru Tegh Bahadur
A heartfelt tribute was paid to Hind ki Chadar Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur by BVM, Sector 39, Ludhiana, with great devotion. The event was organised by the Literary Club of the school. The students of classes I to III were apprised about the life events of the Guru by their teachers followed by melodious Shabad Gayan. Students of classes IV to VIII expressed their gratitude to the man who sacrificed his life for the sake of society through declamation, poems and shloka recitation. The atmosphere was blissful with the enchanting voices of the students. Principal Upasna Modgil, while remembering Guru Teg Bahadur, said that he sacrificed his life for the protection of human values and rights.
