Ludhiana: DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana, organised an annual athletics meet for the students of classes III to VI on Monday. The event was fuelled by immense energy and eagerness as the athletes geared up to outshine their competitors. The event was made even more special with the presence of Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar, who was warmly welcomed with a bouquet. A symbolic balloon-releasing ceremony was held to indicate the opening of the event. The morning began with a mesmerising mass PT display, followed by aerobics and dumbbell exercises that showcased the students’ strength and agility. The athletes also participated in yoga sessions, demonstrating their flexibility and coordination.

Kamla Lohtia SD College

To enhance creative instincts among students and build their focus, competitions in creative writing and handwriting were organised at Kamla Lohtia SD College, Ludhiana. In the handwriting competition, organised by the Department of Punjabi, Nikhil of BCom-I, Simardeep of BA-I, and Mohd Faizan of BCA-II were declared first, second, and third, respectively. In the creative writing competition organised by the Department of English for the students of BCom-I on the theme ‘The Time Traveller’, Ayush Jindal, Ayush Kumar, and Ashish were declared first, second, and third, respectively. Lauding the creative and intellectual instincts of the students, Principal Dr Mohd Saleem said such competitions fostered creativity and nurtured writing skills among students. The winners were awarded certificates. The college managing committee, headed by president Sunil Aggarwal, along with other members, shared a word of appreciation for the winners.

Nankana Sahib Public School

Sixteen students of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, excelled in the prestigious Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2024-25. VVM, India’s largest science talent search examination, was organised by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, the Department of Science and Technology, the Government of India, and NCERT, the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Gurveer Singh Sandhu, Ekamjot Kaur, and Aradhana of Class XI; Tashanpreet Kaur and Vandana of Class X; Navjot Kaur and Yashmeet Kaur of Class IX; Taranjot Singh, Jasleen Kaur, and Kawalmeet Singh of Class VIII; Harmaan Singh, Anahad Kaur, and Krishna Aggarwal of Class VII; Harveen Kaur, Harsimran Kaur, and Puneet Verma of Class VI were the achievers from the school. Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich stated, “Such competitions ignite young minds with scientific curiosity and innovation.”
