Police DAV Public School, Police Lines, Ludhiana, organised a presentation for students of Class II (2024-25) followed by graduation ceremony. The programme commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp by the principal of the school. The students displayed a wide array of dances culled from the rich heritage of Indian families to accentuate all positives and negatives of the theme, which was not just an entertainer but conveyed an important message of acknowledging extraordinary values of being respectful, thankful and grateful towards our elders. Principal Dr Anu Verma welcomed parents and addressed the gathering.

Enterprise resource planning

Amritpal Singh, founder of Data Soft Tech Private Ltd organised a workshop on “Enterprise Resource Planning and App Usage” at BCM School, Dugri. The session was designed to empower educators with in-depth understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and digital lesson planning. He provided hands-on training on the latest ERP tools and mobile applications designed for educational institutions. He highlighted the importance of digital integration in teaching & learning, curriculum planning, attendance tracking and communication between teachers and parents. The resource person also addressed common challenges faced by educators and provided practical solutions to improve efficiency.

Orientation programme for tiny tots

BCM School, Chandigarh Road, held an orientation programme to welcome tiny tots and familiarise parents with the institute’s vision. Headmistress Ritu Syal welcomed parents, emphasising the significance of a strong educational foundation. The event began with lighting of a lamp, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge. Amanpreet Kaur and Simran provided an overview of the academic structure, school ethos and co-curricular activities. Dean Academics Gurpreet Kaur led a session on future education and essential skills, stressing the importance of creativity, confidence and communication in child development. She highlighted experiential learning, critical thinking and adaptability, urging parents to foster a stimulating learning environment at home.

Session on dental awareness

Red Ribbon Club of BCM College of Education organised an interactive session on dental awareness to address key concerns, queries and fallacies of future teachers related to oral hygiene. Resource person Dr Parminder Singh Sidhu, president of the Indian Dental Association, deliberated on dental awareness highlighting the relevance of oral hygiene viz timing and method of brushing teeth. He also showcased videos to acquaint students with “dos and don’ts” and taboos related to dental hygiene. Through fun-filled games, he clarified the misconceptions related to dental procedures like scaling, RCT, dental implants etc. Principal Dr Monika Dua congratulated Red Ribbon Club incharges Dr Suprerna Khanna and Kanwalpreet Kaur for successful completion of the session.
