Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Basti Jodhewal, Ludhiana, is celebrating the performance of its students in the Cambridge English Assessment Examinations. Recently affiliated with the Cambridge Board, UK, the school has made a strong impression in its first examination cycle. Students across various levels, including YLE Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET, PET and FCE, demonstrated outstanding achievements. Several earned the Five Shield Award for their English proficiency. Notable achievers include Gurmannat Kaur, Harpreet Singh, Arnav, Arham Mohammad Karim and Kristy Sharma, who secured Five Shields in the YLE Starters category. Saksham Purohit and Aarav Jorra attained Five Shields in the YLE Flyers category. Kartik Mahey, Prithvi Alagh and Aniket were top scorers in KET, while Harleen Kaur and Sanjog excelled in PET. Dr Rajesh Rudhra, chairman of the Green Land Schools chain, congratulated the students and faculty, stating Cambridge certifications open doors to global opportunities. He praised the school’s affiliation with the Cambridge Board as a key milestone in its journey towards academic excellence. He also thanked the faculty and parents for their continued support. The principal, Dr Jyoti Sachdev Pujara, praised the students for their dedication and academic excellence, encouraging them to continue striving for success. She highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds with globally recognised skills and knowledge.

Atam Vallabh Jain students shine

Students of Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana, have brought distinction to their institution with outstanding results in the December 2024 B.Com 5th semester examination held by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The results highlight their academic excellence and commitment to success. Mehak Mutneja claimed the top spot in the college with 86.5 per cent, securing 16th place in the university. Raghav Vasan followed closely in second place with 83.67 per cent, while Neeru took third with 83.6 per cent.

Parent-student meeting

A meeting was held by the officiating principal, SB Choudhary with Class 12 students and their parents to address problems related to the upcoming farewell celebrations. The session focused on discouraging mischief and promoting responsible behaviour. Choudhary also outlined safety measures implemented by the school to ensure the wellbeing of students. He offered exam preparation tips, stressing academic integrity and the importance of cooperation between parents, teachers and the school administration. The gathering concluded with refreshments in the foyer, fostering a positive community spirit.

DAV Public hosts ENT check-up camp

DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana, took a proactive step towards student health by organising an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) checkup camp on 30 January 2025. The initiative, led by Medical Coordinator J Seema Sharma and a team of experts from SPS Hospital, aimed to detect and prevent ENT-related problems among students. Dr Karan Aggarwal from SPS Hospital conducted the check-ups, focusing on early diagnosis to prevent academic or health setbacks. The principal, Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar emphasised the importance of addressing untreated ENT issues to maintain students’ concentration and overall wellbeing.

BVM hosts sports day for UKG

The sports day at BVM Sector 39, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, concluded with a true spirit of sportsmanship. The closing ceremony featured a lamp lighting by Rajni Sharma and Kamlesh Chopra, grandmothers of UKG students Daksh Sharma and Aarica Chopra. The second day of events was dedicated to the students of Class UKG, with exciting activities such as the Crab Race, Hurdle Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, Back Race, One-Leg Race and Sack Race. Top winners included Himani, Prahil Dhawan, Pranjali Yadav, Manav Sharma, Jaskirat Kaur and Rudra. Special races for parents, including the Book Balancing Race and Pick the Cone Race, added to the festive atmosphere. Rajni Kalyan and Nirmal Singh, parents of UKG students Yudhav Kalyan and Jujhar Singh, won top honours. The manager, DD Sharma presented medals to the winners, congratulating them for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Basant Panchami celebrations

Students of Police DAV Public School marked the celebration of Basant Panchami by seeking blessings from Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge and creativity. Dressed in vibrant yellow, they embraced the arrival of spring with warmth and enthusiasm. The festivities were further enhanced by a colourful competition that highlighted the artistic talents of the young participants. Dr. Anu Verma, the school’s Principal, and Madam Neeraj Puri were present to encourage and inspire the students. The event was a beautiful reflection of creativity and devotion, with hopes that Goddess Saraswati continues to inspire the students’ growth and learning.

Bhavik shines at skating tourney

Bhavik Dehran, a talented Class II student of Green Land Convent School, Dugri, brought pride to his school by winning a gold medal at the Open District-Level Inter-School Skating Tournament. The competition, held on January 26 at the Stadium Skating Competition in Ludhiana, saw over 70 participants from various schools. Bhavik secured first place, with his dedication and the support of his teachers playing a key role in his victory. In addition to Bhavik, several other students, including Sanchit Chabbra, Atharav Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Saksham and Mankirat Singh, also participated in the BK Sports Hub Skating Competition. Notably, Sanchit Chabbra, a Class V student, was selected to attend a National Skating Camp in Dehradun, marking another significant achievement for the school. The presidents of the the Green Land Schools chain, Dr Shabad Rudhra, and the principal, Geetika Sharma, congratulated the students and emphasised the importance of excelling in both sports and academics, encouraging the winners to continue their success in the future.
