The Civil Engineering Department of Gulzar Group of Institutions (GGI), Khanna, organised an industrial visit for its students under the guidance of Joga Singh and Varinder Singh. The students had the opportunity to visit the INT-EXT EXPO, an interior and exterior exhibition held in Ludhiana. During the visit, students explored the latest advancements in interior and exterior design technologies, materials, and techniques. This exposure provided them with practical insights into industry trends and innovations, complementing their academic learning.

BVM, Sector 39

To spread awareness among students about the disease, World Cancer Day was celebrated at BVM Sector 39. The students were apprised about the significance of the international event, the treatment of the disease, and the importance of early detection and prevention. Various activities, including a talk, flashcard presentation, poster-making, slogan-writing etc were organised for the students of classes I-VIII, which included maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding exposure to carcinogenic substances, and taking medicines or vaccines that could prevent it from developing. Principal Upasna Modgil said the primary goal of observing the day was to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer.

Nankana Sahib Public School

Athletes of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, performed exceptionally well during the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Athletics Championship, held recently at Police DAV Public School Civil Lines, Ludhiana. The boys of the school in the U-17 category lifted the overall winners trophy. Karandeep Singh Sidhu and Jasnoor Singh Gill were declared the best athletes in the U-17 category. Karandeep Singh Sidhu received gold medals in the 1,500-m and 800-m races. In the same category, Jasnoor Singh Gill got gold medals in 100-m and 200-m races. Ram Dayal Singh in the U-17 boys category bagged the bronze medal in the long jump event. In the U-17 boys category, Karandeep Singh Sidhu, Jasnoor Singh Gill, Ram Dayal Singh, and Brajesh Kumar won the gold medal in the 4X100 m relay. Karandeep Singh Sidhu, Ram Dayal Singh, Jasnoor Singh Gill, and Sukhshaan Singh also clinched the gold in the 4x400 m relay in the U-17 category. Another athlete, Armaan Sharma, won the bronze medal in the 200-m race in the U-19 category. Among the U-17 girls category, Japneet Kaur succeeded in winning the best athlete’s trophy and second runners-up school winner trophy by getting gold medals in 100 meter and 200 meter races. Congratulating the winning athletes and their teachers, Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich said the achievement was the outcome of persistent practice and determination. She wished them luck for all further competitions.

CT University

CT University’s Wushu team made a remarkable impression during the 38th National Games, hosted in Uttarakhand recently, with three of its players securing medals in their respective categories. Abhishek Tawar clinched the gold medal in the 90kg category, while Sagar and Deepika secured silver medals in the 52kg and 56kg categories, respectively. Dr Manbir Singh, Pro-Chancellor, CT University, expressed his pride and admiration for the team’s achievement. “Our Wushu players have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and perseverance. This achievement is a testament to CT University’s commitment to fostering excellence in sports and academics,” he said.

Sat Paul Mittal School

Students of Class PV at Sat Paul Mittal School presented an assembly: “Uncover the Secrets of Learning with Dora.” This year’s theme was a fun and engaging journey where students, along with Dora, explored the magic of learning. The assembly brought alive the powerful lessons of curiosity, teamwork, and the joy of discovery. The event began with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, including Principal Bhupinder Gogia. The ceremony started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, filling the auditorium with a peaceful atmosphere. A special moment during the assembly was the invocation dance, which was set to the uplifting song “Dreamers”, perfectly reflecting the adventurous spirit of Dora. The students also showcased their acting skills in a captivating play about Dora’s journey of discovery, fully immersing themselves in the theme and bringing to life how Dora’s curiosity helped her uncover the wonders of learning. This interactive performance encouraged the audience to embrace the joy of learning, just as Dora did. Additionally, the students delighted everyone with a lively rendition of the song “Do Re Mi,” a musical celebration of how learning can be fun. The showstopper of the event, the grand finale, “Oh Hooray, We Did It!” captured the essence of teamwork, perseverance, and the thrill of achieving something together. Principal Gogia praised the students for their dedication and enthusiasm. The programme concluded with the school song, followed by the national anthem.

The Shri Ram Universal School

The young writers of The Shri Ram Universal School have made a mark in the literary world with their book, Tales Casket, which is now available on Amazon and Kindle. Under the guidance of the school’s editor-in-chief, Maira Khullar, the students showcased their creativity through engaging stories that captivated readers. The school is all set for a grand physical launch of the Tales Casket, and students are gearing up to pen Tales Casket 2.0, continuing their journey as budding authors. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Navneet Kaur said the initiative reflected the students’ passion for storytelling and their ability to bring their imagination to life and their ability of bringing their imagination to life.

Harvest International School

Harvest International School, Jassowal-Kular, organised ‘The Young Scientist and Mathematician Challenge’ at the school auditorium on Friday. During the event, as many as 180 science and 145 math static and working models were presented by students from PP2 (Class I) to IG1 (Class IX). The event was graced by Campus Director Sandeep Singh and Principal Jay Sharma, among others, who inspired students to explore their potential and enrich their knowledge further. Students were assessed based on various parameters such as innovation, presentation skills, explanation, and inquisition. While the maths models were adjudged by Karan Kamboz and Jay Sharma, the science models were adjudged by Varun Kumar and Ajay Rai.
