The Electoral Literacy Club of Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana, under nodal SVEEP plan office, Ludhiana, observed the 15th National Voters’ Day in collaboration with NSS unit. It was held on the theme “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure” under the guidance of Satwant Kaur (officiating principal-cum-patron) and the supervision of Sukhwinder Singh Cheema (nodal officer).
Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce
Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management BBA third semester students have achieved remarkable success in the Panjab University exams held in December, 2024. Seven of their students earned top positions. Esha Bajaj bagged fourth position in the University, Ashmeen Kaur pocketed fifth position, ?Rajat Madaan secured sixth rank, Riya Singla got ninth position, ?Roohbani Kaur secured 10th rank and both Kritika and Sameer Sharma bagged 15th rank in Panjab University.
Donation programme organised
A donation programme ‘Maanavta’ was organised at Kamla Lohtia SD College, Ludhiana, by PG Department of Commerce and Management. It was organised on the college campus with the purpose to provide help to the under-privileged sections of society. All students of the college participated whole heartedly by donating various articles like eatables, clothes, shoes and other household utility items, along with cash.
Arya College for Girls
An accident prevention awareness session was organised at Arya College for Girls to mark the road safety month under the aegis of the NSS. The session aimed to educate participants on various strategies to minimise the risk of accidents. The session included an informative lecture by guest speaker Pankaj Kumar, senior safety instructor from Children Traffic Training Park, who shared insight on road safety.
Lala Lajpat Rai remembered
The birth anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai, fondly remembered as ‘Punjab Kesari’, was observed at DAV Public School, Pakhowal. Tributes were paid to the legendary freedom fighter. Students of Class V captivated the audience with soul-stirring patriotic songs and poems, while Class VI students staged a street play, highlighting the adverse effects of excessive social media use.
BCM Arya Model School
BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana, observed National Road Safety Month in January with a series of impactful activities aimed at fostering awareness and instilling a sense of responsibility among students. Held on the theme “Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha”, the month-long initiative emphasised the importance of safer roads for all. The event commenced with a solemn road safety pledge, where students and staff committed themselves to following traffic rules and promoting road safety.
Guru Nanak Dev Engg College
Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, hosted a thought-provoking panel discussion on the critical issue of the “Diminishing Trend of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Courses”. The event was held at the college auditorium and witnessed the participation of academicians, administrators and professionals from various fields. Principals, along with science/math teachers of 70 schools, participated in this discussion. The panelists shared valuable insights into the reasons behind the declining interest in STEM courses among students .
