Shri Ram Universal School inaugurated its Shri Natshala, integrated with a workshop on acting tips. The event featured a special appearance by renowned actress Deep Mandeep, who shared invaluable insights and experiences with students. The workshop kicked off with a talk show, wherein Deep Mandeep offered tips and shared anecdotes from her career. The session allowed students to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the acting profession. One of the highlights of the event was a mime performance by the students, showcasing their creativity and skills they had honed in drama classes.

Display of entrepreneurial skills

DCM Young Entrepreneur School hosted the fourth edition of its annual flagship event titled ‘TIESCON 4.0’. The event continued to provide a platform for young minds to showcase their business acumen and entrepreneurial skills. Naman Singhal, CEO of Atal Incubation Centre, Indian School of Business (Mohali), was the guest of honour. Attendees were inspired by five distinguished keynote speakers — Julian Vogel (co-founder of Tower 360, Zurich), Kunal Rambhia (fund manager at The Streets, Mumbai), Inu Rana (head of Launch Pad at Western Sydney University, Australia), Varun Aggarwal (managing director of Profit India), Nicolas Belanger (senior product engineer at Ciena, Canada). A panel of over 36 judges, including senior academic heads from leading business schools and CEOs of various start-ups and industries, evaluated the participants.

Students celebrate teej

Cherubs The Preschool celebrated Teej with great enthusiasm. Students dressed in vibrant traditional attire showcased their talent by dancing to folk songs. The event aimed at teaching the young ones about the rich cultural heritage and significance of the festival. The celebration was a delightful blend of fun and learning, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds.

Parent-teacher meet held

The Parents-Teacher Association and the IQAC of Khalsa College for Women organised an orientation programme and parent-teacher meet for students of first year. Principal Kamaljit Grewal accorded a warm welcome to parents and their wards. They were informed about the New Education Policy, its structure and curriculum. They were further apprised about the college and its academic, sports and cultural achievements through a presentation. A virtual tour to various clubs and cells was given to the students, encouraging them to join and tap into their creative potential. The students were also apprised about various aspects of learning, including library rules, attendance and performance. The principal exhorted the students to make best use of their time.

Session on investment plans

An empowering session was organised for Class XI (Commerce with Financial Skills) students by the Department of Commerce with Financial Skill, BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School. Vikas Ahluwalia, regional business head, HDFC Asset Management Company, Punjab, was the guest speaker of the day. He explained operations of mutual fund, financial freedom, average costing, and law of double and inflation effects for the longer period of time and systematic investment plan. Bhupinder, skill development officer, elaborated on the lecture and briefed them about the relevance of investment plans.

Investiture ceremony

Sat Paul Mittal School held its investiture ceremony, which was marked by enthusiasm and celebration. It is a cornerstone of the school’s tradition, emphasising the significance of leadership and the essential role of students’ involvement in governance. The students selected through a rigorous democratic process, involving both peers and teachers, were honoured at the ceremony. Recognised for their leadership abilities, academic achievements and commitment to serve the school community, these students reflect the school’s dedication to fostering the leaders of tomorrow.

Second prize in mime competition

Students of Springdale brought laurels to the institution by securing the second prize in the field of Performing Arts in Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex inter-school mime competition. A total of 26 CBSE schools participated and the Springdale team’s performance was lauded by everyone. The winning team, comprising Anmol Kumar (VIII), Shourya Puri (VIII), Surya Jaiswal (IX), Syon Giri (VIII), Aarav Yadav (VII), Tanisha Saini (VIII) and Kunwar (IX), showcased their exceptional talent and dedication.

Pool party organised

Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, organised a pool party for kindergarten students. Dressed in colourful costumes, the students enjoyed splashing around, playing with toys and dancing. Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich told students to stay hydrated and choose homemade food over junk food.

Students bring laurels

Students of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, run by the SGHGU Hari Trust, brought laurels to the institution by performing well in university exams. Amandeep Kaur of BCom (Semester II) bagged the second position in Panjab University and first position in the college by securing 87.27 per cent. Diya and Jasvir Kaur bagged second and third positions in the college by securing 83.48 per cent and 81.21 per cent, respectively. Principal Amandeep Kaur and members of college management said it was a matter of immense pride and honour.

Scholarship test

Physics Wallah launched the third edition of its NSAT (National Scholarship Common Entrance Test) at PW Vidyapeeth Centre, Aarti Chowk. Ranjeet, Regional Business Head, Physics Wallah, said the institute is India’s leading education company and PW NSAT is the biggest scholarship exam. The initiative aims to provide better education and guidance to students aspiring to get scholarship in NEET-UG and IIT-JEE examinations, irrespective of their financial status. Registration for the exam is now open and is free of cost. PW Vidyapeeth Centre Head Yugal Krishna said the test will be conducted online from October 1 to 15 and offline on October 6 and 13 and the results would be declared in November. The programme is open to students from classes VI to X. Bhupinder Rana, business head, PW Vidyapeeth, said scholarships amounting to Rs 250 crore will be offered to students. 100 per cent scholarship, including accommodation, will be provided to top 1,000 students securing scholarship in NEET-UG and IIT-JEE examinations.
