Challans issued to 42 violators for dumping garbage in open
Civic body appeals to residents to support authorities in keeping Ludhiana clean
Committed to ensure cleanliness across the city, the Municipal Corporation (MC) is conducting night patrolling on a regular basis.
Tightening noose around violators, hefty challans have been issued to 42 offenders who were caught dumping garbage in the open in city areas in the past two days.
Mayor Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal have directed civic body teams to keep a strict vigil at different points of the city during day and night.
Working on the directions of Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Sekhon, the night patrolling team issued challans to violators on the Dugri road, Maratha point near Dugri canal bridge, near Krishna Mandir in Model Town extension, among other areas.
The civic body officials stated that regular awareness drives were also being conducted in the city but they are forced to take strict action against violators as residents had still been dumping waste in the open.
Meanwhile, the Mayor and MC Commissioner appealed to the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean by not dumping waste in the open.
They stated that the drive against burning and open dumping of garbage would be further intensified and strict legal action would also be taken against the violators.
