Christian Medical College (CMC) Ludhiana celebrated its 131st anniversary today at Lady Willingdon Hall, marking the occasion with a reunion for the MBBS batches of 1975 and 1994. This annual event honours the birthday of the college’s founder, Dr Edith Mary Brown. It was a special occasion for medical alumni from across the country and abroad to reconnect with old friends and batch mates, while reflecting on the institution’s growth and evolution over the years.

The event began with a heartfelt tribute to alumni who have passed away, as a candle was lit in their honour and prayers were offered for their souls and families.

The function was inaugurated by Dr William Bhatti (Director), Dr Jeyaraj D Pandian (Principal), Dr Ajay Kumar (president of the Association of Medical Alumni, CMC Ludhiana), senior alumni Dr Afzal (Batch of 1970) and representatives from the batches of 1975 and 1994.

Continuing a cherished tradition, Dr Jugesh Chatwal from the Batch of 1975 passed a lit candle to Dr Jacob Anugrah Jall, the junior-most alumni from the MBBS Batch of 2019, symbolising the connection between generations of CMC graduates and reminding everyone of the institution’s enduring motto.

During the programme, a textbook on Obstetrics and Gynecology, co-authored by Dr Kavita Mandrelle, professor and head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology (Batch of 1985), was released.
