The police have initiated a probe into an incident in which a caller from some foreign country had threatened to eliminate Manmeet Singh of Jagjit Nagar, in case he did not pay him Rs 50 lakh. The suspect claimed to be a fugitive, gangster Gopi Lahoria, who is believed to be staying in Canada.

Manmeet informed the police that he had received the call from a foreign number on May 31. On June 1, he again received a call, after which the victim reported the matter to the police. A case has been registered.
