With the days getting warmer and summer not far away, city’s swimming enthusiasts are looking forward to beating the heat in the swimming pool.

The municipal corporation is coming up with an all-weather swimming pool at Rakh Bagh and city residents are eagerly waiting for it to get functional. It is expected to be completed by March and the project is estimated to cost around Rs 6 crore.

Finally, after a long wait, the city people will be enjoying the all-weather swimming pool. It has been on the wish list of the swimming enthusiasts for quite some time, but the project could not be started due to paucity of funds.

Presently, the municipal corporation has one swimming pool, that too at Rakh Bagh. This Olympic-size swimming pool (50m x 25m) is the biggest pool in the city, and the depth of the pool ranges from 6ft to 20ft.

The all-weather swimming pool can be used in both summer and winter season. Since the depth of the pool is up to 5 feet, children will also be able to use it.
