The plantation drives will be taken up in the second phase of the campaign, which will commence on June 5. The members of the SHGs have been provided kits for the plantation and training has also been provided for planting the saplings properly, said officials. The SHG members would also be given the responsibility of the maintenance of the saplings that are planted under the campaign and financial incentives would be provided for the same, they said.

MC Commissioner Dachalwal urged residents to take part in the initiative and work to spread greenery in their surroundings. He urged the residents to support the authorities concerned in keeping the city clean and green.
