Civic body team removes encroachments

Continuing its anti-encroachment, the tehbazaari wing of the municipal corporation removed encroachments done by shopkeepers by dumping construction materials on roadside in the Focal Point area.

The civic body officials stated that around five-six shopkeepers had done encroachments on Jiwan Nagar road in the area. The team had first conducted a drive to remove these on Wednesday. A few of these were removed, while the others sought some time to do the same. As they failed to do so, the civic body team conducted the drive again on Thursday and removed the encroachments.

The construction material dumped on roadside was creating a bottleneck and movement of traffic was getting disturbed. Tehbazaari Inspector Sunil Kumar said that the drive was conducted on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal and Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain. The civic body teams also confiscated construction material dumped on the roadsides. A warning has also been issued to the shopkeepers that strict action would be taken against them if they continue with this.
