CM hands over appointment letters to 951 ETT teachers
Achieving a new milestone in government recruitment, the state government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, on Wednesday created history by giving 52,606 jobs to the youth merely in 36 months of assuming the charge of office.
Addressing the gathering at a function to hand over appointment letters to 951 ETT teachers, the Chief Minister congratulated the youngsters for getting the jobs, thereby becoming active partners in the social and economic development of the state.
He said the state government was working tirelessly for the holistic development of Punjab for which young and qualified youth were required. Mann said for the same, the state government had embarked the massive recruitment drive for putting the state on a high-growth trajectory.
The Chief Minister called upon the newly recruited teachers to act as a catalyst of the education revolution in the state by further improving the standard of education to benefit the common man. He envisioned that the teachers equipped with the latest teaching practices should impart quality education to students so that they could excel in life.
The Chief Minister said it would help rejuvenate the entire education system of he state for the well-being of students with the teachers actually acting as agents of change in the education sector in the prevalent times by ensuring quality education to students.
He said teachers of government schools were the best as they were well qualified and capable but they were put on non-teaching duties too during previous regimes. However, he said, his government had made sure that the services of teachers were utilised solely for teaching purposes.
Mann said earlier, schools were vacant but water tanks in front of schools were full as teaching aspirants climbed on them due to agitation. However, his government had reversed the trend by giving jobs to the youth who were now teaching students and contributing to the progress of the state.
He said earlier, convent educated leaders, who were not aware of basic realities of the state, had ignored this key sector due to which Punjab lagged behind on the path of progress.
The Chief Minister asked the newly recruited teachers to motivate students for acquiring education as per their interests so that they could carve a niche for themselves.
He said the teachers must discharge their duties in a befitting manner and become role models for the pupils so that they could also excel in life.
He reiterated that the state government fills all posts as soon as they become vacant. He said a foolproof mechanism had been adopted for the entire recruitment process due to which not even a single appointment, of these over 52,000 jobs had been challenged so far in any court.
Mann said it was a proud moment for the state government that the youths had been given government jobs on the basis of merit.
He said it was a matter of pride and satisfaction for him that all jobs had been given completely on the basis of merit, without any corruption or nepotism. The state government was ensuring that no one from the state migrates abroad so that dreams of freedom fighters were fulfilled.
He added that reverse migration was already being witnessed in the state and youth were returning from abroad to serve here due to strenuous efforts of the state government.
