The computer teachers had highlighted the issue yesterday also and had warned the government that if their salary was not released by September 16, they would gherao the Directorate of School Education (DGSE) office in Mohali tomorrow.

The president of Ludhiana District Computer Adhyapak Union said that in a few districts, the salaries had been released but over 5,000 computer teachers across the state were yet to receive theirs. “Earlier, during Raksha Bandhan also, we were not paid our salaries timely and that affected the celebrations. When budgets are allocated for the salaries, these should be distributed timely and we must not have to resort to agitations etc to get our right,” said the president.
