Congress alleges AAP candidate misusing power; Arora denies charges

A picture is circulating on social media, in which AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora is seen holding a meeting with government officials and suspended SSP (Vigilance) Jagat Preet Singh is also present in the meeting. The Congress has alleged that the AAP candidate is misusing his power.

The picture was released by the media team of Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu. It is being alleged that Arora was instructing the government officials, which was a violation of model code of conduct.

Talking to The Tribune, Arora said that on a daily basis, he attends several such meetings, how would he know who all were sitting in the meeting? He also added that if the SSP in question was close to him, then why would he be suspended today?

He said Congress was levelling baseless allegations against him and his party to gain sympathy of voters and the picture in question was over two months old.

Also seen in the picture is the registrar of PAU, Dr Rishipal Singh. When asked, Dr Singh said that this picture was clicked about two months ago at the relatives of a leading advocate here. He added, “We had gone to get a grant released from the MP, and this picture is old, before the imposition of the model code of conduct.”
